Biography
Alex Richardson (Machine) is a British host and commentator. He began his esports career in 2011 as a commentator at KaosTV while simultaneously working in customer service at Homebase. His early work focused on covering online tournaments for Call of Duty and Counter-Strike.
In January 2013, Richardson joined Turtle Entertainment. He initially served as an ESL commentator in the UK, and from September 2014 to October 2016, he held the position of resident host at the company's HQ. During this time, he became a signature voice for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive championships. Between 2013 and 2014, he also collaborated with Kuoda Limited on video content production.
Since November 2016, Richardson has worked as a freelance host. He is one of the few professionals to have worked across three major disciplines: CS:GO, Dota 2 (including The International), and League of Legends. In 2019, he made his debut in the European LEC, and in 2020, he served as the host for the League of Legends World Championship.
