Biography
Alex Mendez, known as Goldenboy, is an esports host and commentator. He began his career in January 2011 as a coach at Goodwill Industries. Since 2012, he has been active in the gaming industry, starting with Major League Gaming, and in October 2012, he joined IGN Entertainment as a creative producer and host.
In August 2014, he joined the team at Twitch. Mendez was responsible for developing relationships with game publishers and developers, and later oversaw talent and streamer development. From October 2016 to August 2017, he hosted programs for Microsoft, and in June 2021, he became the face of the G4 network.
Throughout his career, from 2011 to the present day, Mendez has worked as a freelance host. He is known as the “voice” of tournaments for Halo, Call of Duty, and Overwatch. In 2025, he remains actively involved, working at international championships.
